GOD’S PROMISE OF DIVINE PROTECTION
The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.” Psalm 121:6
God’s protection and His care for us is exceedingly great. Just as a hen hides her chicks under her wings, He keeps us safe and guards us.
In today’s promise, The sun shall not smite thee by day , because of the intense heat during the day, travelers and those who work outside—especially those living in desert regions—quickly become weary and are unable to continue their work effectively. Sometimes this heat can even become life-threatening.
Likewise, although the moonlight at night appears cool and pleasant, the night brings fears and worries(Psa 91: 5). Even some sicknesses were believed to be caused by the moonlight. These also trouble people.
Therefore, when the Israelites traveled through the wilderness, the merciful God protected them—by day as a pillar of cloud and by night as a pillar of fire( Exo 13:21). That same God will deliver you from every situation you are in today, and will protect you.
