The Lord bless you and keep you
“The Lord bless you and keep you.” Numbers 6:24.
These are the words God commanded Aaron and his sons to speak while blessing the Israelites. In this verse, we can observe two important expressions:
First, Blessing
Second, Keeping/Protection
1.“I will bless you”
This reveals the unbroken relationship between God and His people.
It also reminds us of the covenant God made with our forefather Abraham.(Gen 12:2-3).
God blessed the people of Israel.so that they would grow, prosper, and move forward victoriously.
Likewise, we who are under the New Covenant are expected to grow spiritually (Eph 1:3) and overcome the enemy.
2 . “I will keep you”
The One who keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps.(Psa 127:7-8 )
As He protected them like the apple of His eye and delivered them from every situation and from the enemy’s hand.
That same God protects our souls today and guards our spiritual lives.
Even our Lord Jesus Christ prayed: “Father, keep them in Your name.”( John 17:11)
Therefore, dear beloved, the Lord is the One who blesses us and the One who protects us.
So live for Him with faith.
