WHEN THE GOD’S WORD WORKS IN YOU

“That word is at work in you who believe.” — 1 Thessalonians 2:13

The Word itself is God, and through hearing the Word of God, faith is born in us. As this faith continues to grow, it enables us to experience the mighty works of God even in these present times. Our Lord Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Then why, we may ask, are the works of God not being manifested among us today?
The reason is that we are receiving the Word of God as though it were the word of men. In today’s times, we often give honor to the person who speaks rather than to the Word itself. Those who truly honor the Word as the Word of God have become rare — how sad this is!

That is why the power of the Word is not working within us, and we find ourselves discouraged amid trials and reproaches. But the Thessalonian church in those days stood firm for Christ even in suffering and deadly situations because they received the Word as God’s Word, not as man’s.

Now, what about you who are reading the Word today?
Think about it.
Make a good decision today — to receive, believe, and honor God’s Word as it is.
